Serial Cable with Security Key
Description
The SK-101A Security Key is primarily intended for the interconnection of DTE with a computer's serial port. Effectively a Serial Dongle, it is housed in a DB9 or DB25 connector shell and employs a non-volatile memory capable of being accessed from the application software.
Uses
- Prevent software theft with ID or password protection
- Keep sensitive or critical information out of the computer's file system
- Save setup or configuration data critical to your application
- Protect against loss of information during computer failure
- Use as a Date Key for time trial software
- Substitute for a printer port dongle

Limitations
- No Carrier Detect
- No Ring
- DTR / DSR handshake is Null connection
